Scope and collection

What we know about you

1. Who is responsible

Blue Tech Wave operates BTW.MEDIA and publishes as BTW Media. It is responsible for the personal information covered by this policy. Contact privacy@btw.media with a privacy question or request.

2. Information you provide

This may include your name, email address, account details, membership application and preferences, newsletter choices, support or editorial messages, job application material, and content or reactions you post in community features.

3. Information from your use

We may process IP address, device and browser information, requested pages, timestamps, security and diagnostic logs, session or language settings, and limited interaction events. When advertising attribution is enabled and permitted, this can include campaign parameters and opaque reference identifiers.

Use and choice

Why we use information

4. Purposes and legal bases

We use information to provide accounts, memberships, newsletters, community tools, and requested support; protect and improve the service; answer editorial, business, and recruitment messages; keep necessary records; and meet legal duties. Depending on the activity, we rely on contract, legitimate interests, consent, or legal obligation.

5. Cookies, analytics, and attribution

Necessary technologies keep sessions, security, and language choices working. Optional analytics or advertising attribution is used only where enabled and permitted, with consent where the law requires it. You can use available consent controls or browser settings; raw advertising attribution material is retained for no more than 30 days.

6. Payments and membership

Payment and membership providers process checkout and account administration. BTW Media receives information such as membership status, plan, payment status, and transaction references needed to provide access and support, but does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

Sharing and storage

Where information goes

7. Service providers and disclosures

We share personal information only as needed with providers that support hosting, security, email, membership administration, payments, analytics when enabled, and professional services; with authorities where legally required; or in a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.

8. International transfers

Some providers or team members may process information outside your country. Where data protection law requires it, we use an approved transfer mechanism or another valid safeguard and apply access controls appropriate to the information.

9. Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, account or membership administration, security, disputes, and legal or financial records. Retention varies by record; when it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Raw advertising attribution material has a 30-day maximum.

Control and protection

Your information rights

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful use. You may also unsubscribe through a message link. Rights can be subject to legal exceptions; we may verify identity before responding.

11. Security

We use organisational and technical measures designed to protect information, limit access, and detect misuse. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong unique password and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access.

12. Children

BTW Media is a professional news, research, and membership service and is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

Requests and updates

How to reach us

13. Privacy requests and complaints

Send privacy requests to privacy@btw.media. Please describe the request and the account or interaction concerned. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the data protection authority where you live or work.

14. Changes and related information

We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal duties change. We will publish the new effective date and give additional notice when a material change requires it. The Terms of Service explain the agreement for using BTW Media.
